[ Yvaine doesn't care if it seems like undue paranoia. Though she is not one to show fear as plain as its own meaning, preferring to exercise caution and sensibility, she does fear it, very much.
The heart of a star provides youth or if eaten by a single entity, immortality...but to give any life it must have it, which means she would be alive while it is cut out of her.
Unpleasant, to say the least. Simple, casual terms could some it up with she'd rather not.
Anyway, she sighs, scowls at no one, because there is no one there at the moment and through the device is not the kind of 'there' she means. ]

[ Her point is that even safe places can quickly become unsafe, so to keep things simple may not be in error. At the same time, if she could know his thoughts--she can't--she would not be able to meet that supposition with a calmness she prefers.
What became of the unicorn?
She will never know, but she can hope.
The fire was everywhere, but unicorns are resilient and perhaps as the myths do not so much include in their telling, stubborn.
Yvaine tells herself what became of the unicorn she found here is not necessarily what became of the unicorn there and she runs with it because it is the only way to feel okay sometimes, to chase hopes with every wish that the hope becomes a reality even if personal affirmation may never be a part of that.
Belatedly it occurs to her in that same vein: safer, maybe, is among friends. ]

At the same time, she is no stranger to sleep simply refusing one, and in that case she thinks to offer company again, if only to share the silence.
