[ Peter, as it happens, ends up talking to that non wave-like movement just barely disrupting the water, easy to miss in the dark but the blond has sharp sight - whatever anyone might say. ]

I'm surprised you aren't complaining about the cold.

[ It's not actually an answer but that hardly seems important. People all over have been acting strange and stranger even for the City. He's supposing this has something to do with it but so far it seems harmless enough. ]

Or not, is the other thing he thinks but it's just a series of tiny tests, watching Caspian finally surface, brow arching at how he mostly stays under the water line. [ Ah, there he is. Er wait a second. Not that it's extremely visible in the dark but Peter frowns, leaning forward a little. ]

I have nothing against water. Perhaps my problem is with you - swanning off for a midnight dive for no reason.

[ It's a poor guise really but Peter's not overly concerned, more or less the question palpable in the space of those words: or is there a reason? Not that he's altogether certain Caspian has any intention of telling him directly...he'll probably have to go down to see after all.

[Except Peter's seen him in a lake too, with a salamander named Salamander and no it's true, Caspian never did look much like a swan. Seal seems...more appropriate if no more alike. Hm.]
