[It's silence. A little bit of water splishing. Then singing. It sounds something like this.]

Hatred enfolds us...inculcates the minds with its heresy.

Laymen enfold us...clemency arrives to set you free.

[ooc: Action welcome! He's prowling the waters around the Dawn Treader. Beware. Also sdlkjfglsad sorry for disappearing I locked myself out of his account during the great LJ Login debacle ~__~;]

Charlie? What a curious name for a lady.

[He mirrors the smile then bows as only a merman can...in the water.] I am Caspian, the Tenth of That Name, King to the Eastern Sea.

[Just stole Lucy's title there. Maybe she won't notice.]

Interesting title. [That is as close to saying 'pleasure to meet you' as this particular mermaid can get.]

My name is a shortened version of Charlene. [She tilts her head towards where Caspian had just been, smiling briefly.] Anything good?

Charlene.

[He's trying the sound of her name on his very Narnian tongue and decides Charlene is prettier to say than Charlie, but he'll oblige by the name given. Her question makes him take on a mischievous expression.]

Good for what?

[Calling her 'Charlene' will get you rude looks, Caspian. Out of habit.]

Land-dwellers. Are there any over there? [Because there aren't many where she's from at the moment.[

Unless you want me to stay away. [Which she will completely understand.]

Some, not many. I believe they're wary and I couldn't fathom why.

[This is sort of a lie. He knows why land dwellers are told not to heed the song of merfolk, it's just a shame the stories claim they eat sailors all the time. That simply isn't true. Sometimes Caspian is too full to eat more.]

The ship is empty. [Aslan help the man who thinks he can claim the Dawn Treader as his own.]

[She's just going to frown, annoyed.] They're too smart sometimes.

[Charlie just drowns them half the time. Lets her family do the eating.]
