I encountered a blue being in one of the forest lakes today. I half-expected it to speak but it only sang, much like a Naiad. What queer creature is this?

We don't have any of those back home! Well, we do in books. Like fairy tales and things like that where it's all fantasy and magical.

The Gold Rush is a time in American history when everyone was traveling west to hunt for gold after it was discovered in a river out there.

Anyways, New Orleans is like a big mix of cultures. The south meets city-life. The food is really good too. I think that's one of the things I miss. Besides my family. I do miss them too. Where I live is nice though. I get to go bowling with the nuns!
