Date: 2009-04-13 05:51 am (UTC)He tried to put it under control, the topic alone was clearly making Caspian uncomfortable.
"Mistletoe curse," he shook his head, not believing what he was hearing. "You get a manslut stamp for kissing people under a mistletoe? That's priceless." Riddiculous too. Clearly Gossip Girl was either really desperate for scandal, or the standards have changed since Chuck himself was last featured on the blog's pages.

Date: 2009-04-13 05:55 am (UTC)Caspian gave Chuck a most dubious look, something close to are you laughing at me? Of course he was, loudly too, so that question was sort of moot. His discomfort wasn't that bad though, no different from a pair of acquaintances growing into something like friends taking a few jabs at each other.
"There were quite a few on that day, I will have you know. None of it with permission, it was all confusing and I thought it was behind us. Fortunately the others didn't seem too disturbed by having the memory brought up again," he said in a sound of relief.

Date: 2009-04-13 06:03 am (UTC)"Well, I don't see how they would react any other way. We're not exactly talking traumatic experiences here," he pointed out. "You really shouldn't stress over something so insignificant, Cas," he offered.

Date: 2009-04-13 06:07 am (UTC)"Where I am from it is considered unbecoming, that's all," he shrugged once, "I hope not to upset anyone. That is all."

Date: 2009-04-13 06:13 am (UTC)"I don't think you need to worry," he returned to the matter at hand. "Unles there are other people from your world who would misunderstand..."

Date: 2009-04-13 06:18 am (UTC)"Well, I never said I was an expert on the matter. I am sure in most cases at least someone grants permission and isn't drawn in by cursed mistletoe," oh this time Caspian blushed, but briefly. If anything he'd blame it on the exertion from their recent lesson. Of course worthy of nothing, Caspian hadn't broken a sweat.

Date: 2009-04-13 06:37 am (UTC)"Oh thank you very much, Charles," Caspian said, tone flat and unconvinced, but only in a humorous manner. "I am sure the sacrifice you make is most noble indeed," he smiled.

Date: 2009-04-13 07:55 am (UTC)He frowned, trying to put a face to the name Caspian mentioned. "I don't think I had. I might've seen something from him on the Network, but we haven't interacted yet. You really think he would be interested in Victrola?" Chuck asked curiously. He would need help. Possibly investors. He didn't have Bass Industries backing him up here.

Date: 2009-04-13 08:10 am (UTC)"Oh yes, Tybalt, the House of Capulet," oh and Caspian wasn't joking, it's that Tybalt, "he enjoys music, dance, drink, just as well as anyone. He is a born entertainer, but also very dedicated to his chosen work."
no subject
Date: 2009-04-13 08:23 am (UTC)He would give it more thought, but the name Capulet filtered into his brain. And he thought meeting Arthur of Camelot and vampires was the weirdest that could happen. Nope, possibility of working with fictional characters took the cake.
"Really? He does sound like someone I would love to associate with."

Date: 2009-04-13 08:33 am (UTC)That was an understatement. Caspian enjoyed drinking to a point where some, like Claire Bennet felt it was a problem, but not once had he ever done anything foolish in a stupor. Well... not foolish, maybe not fatal? Losing his dinner was another story and just not fit for polite conversation between friends. Not yet anyway. But not as sheltered as Chuck feared? Absolutely. Public image was, unfortunately, ingrained in his being.
"You can tell Tybalt I sent you. He will know my name. We met here but we are like cousins. He is as Telmarine as I am Capulet," he nodded cheerfully.

Date: 2009-04-13 08:59 am (UTC)"And I'm glad to hear you're not completely against the pleasures of drinking. I'm very fond of that one. Even though, by law, I'm not really allowed..." Unimportant details, really.

Date: 2009-04-14 01:37 am (UTC)"I have heard of such laws, mostly on Earth. I fear that the people of your world might be horrified to hear I was practically weaned on brandy by the age of five," said the Telmarine. Was it a joke? Well, his secret, hehehe. "One of the many differences between our worlds," he nodded, "but I would still enjoy visiting."
Living was another matter entirely, one he wasn't prepared to discuss.

Date: 2009-04-14 08:23 am (UTC)"So, if you ever visit, look me up, no excuses. I'm gonna show you what the Upper East Side has to offer to friends of Chuck Bass. And believe me, people from my world aside, it takes much more to horrify me than being weaned on brandy before you're a teen," he told Caspian firmly, with his trademark smirk.
no subject
Date: 2009-04-14 08:29 am (UTC)At that invitation the Telmarine couldn't help but laugh. It was a good natured laugh, not at Chuck but for his enthusiastic offer. "It would be my pleasure, Chuck. I do mean it, there are many things I have heard about Earth that make it seem like a fascinating place. I want to see New York, and London, a place called New Orleans," his pronunciation was sketchy, "and China."
He leaned against the wall, head tilted up to gaze at the high ceiling of the fencing hall.
"None of it sounds like anything we have in Narnia, which isn't to say Narnia isn't worth visiting either. It is, and more so now than ever before," he nodded.
no subject
Date: 2009-04-14 08:46 am (UTC)He looked at Caspian. The other man seemed relaxed, melancholic even. At the back of his head he analysed what it would take to show Caspian all the places he wanted to visit. Thank God for the private jet and owning hotels all over the world.
"What do you mean?" he asked when Caspian mentioned Narnia. "It wasn't worth visiting before?"
no subject
Date: 2009-04-14 08:50 am (UTC)"It was..." he started, "but things were a bit different. They are better now, I assure you." He said it like it mattered to Chuck, but really it was just a way for Caspian to reassure himself.

Date: 2009-04-14 09:00 am (UTC)"I mean, you don't have to tell me, if you don't want to," he quickly corrected himself. "The quiet, mysterious warrior image works just fine for you," he assured Caspian with a smile.
no subject
Date: 2009-04-14 09:15 am (UTC)"No, no thank you. I do not need that kind of image," he shook his head, remember what else Telmarines are 'supposed' to be. "Aside from being very good with drink, my people are also very proud. We take what we need, what we want, without regard for the price. My forefathers did anyway," Caspian nodded. "We invaded Narnia," he continued, not at all hesitating from sharing the truth, "we drove out many of those who lived there previously, to near extinction. Several generations later, in the year when I was sixteen, a chain of events began that eventually led to a revolution for the Old Narnians. We made peace between our people, Telmarines and Narnians alike, with the help of my friends the Pevensies, who were the Kings and Queens of Old."
After a thoughtful moment Caspian added, "I am sure that was more than you wanted to know."

Date: 2009-04-14 09:32 am (UTC)The rest of Caspian's story was... a little unbelievable. But since he was stuck in a City between worlds, listening to a clock counting down to an apocalypse... Yeah, he could buy the big revolution in a galaxy far, far away.
"Don't be riddiculous. It's always good to know your friends are close with the royalty," he said with a smirk.
